To enroll in EAP courses, you must first be admitted to IU Indianapolis as either a degree-seeking or non-degree student. International students are admitted through the Office of International Affairs.
Your letter of admission will specify if you are required to take the EAP Placement Test. After you take the EAP Placement Test, you may be placed into EAP and can then work with your advisor to register for the courses you need.
Academic advising
After taking the Eyou should meet and discuss your test results with your academic advisor.
- Undergraduate students who have not declared a major are advised by a University College advisor.
- Graduate students and undergraduate students who have declared majors are advised by advisors or faculty in your home department.
EAP program staff are also available to discuss placements and undergraduate or graduate classes.
Registering for EAP classes
EAP courses for undergraduate and graduate students are offered through the Department of English in the School of Liberal Arts.
Students register for most EAP classes like other IU Indianapolis classes. However, EAP sections of G109/G110, G130, and G131 require authorization before registration. For classes requiring authorization, call 317-274-3824 or email the EAP program office and provide your name, student ID number, and the specific course section for which you want to register. The EAP program assistant will process your request.
For undergraduates who have not declared a major, University College can assist with registering for classes.
Course fees
EAP course fees are the same as those for other undergraduate-level courses in the School of Liberal Arts. The exact fee for an EAP course depends on the number of course credits and whether you are considered an Indiana resident or a “non-resident” (Residency Status for Fee-Payment Purposes).
