MASTER OF ARTS IN ENGLISH
WITH A CONCENTRATION IN TESOL
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a grade point average of at least 3.0 and an appropriate level of achievement on the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) General Test. Ordinarily, applicants are expected to have been English majors, but admission will be considered also for those who otherwise demonstrate competency necessary for successful graduate work in English. Master of Arts in English with a Concentration in TESOL
Students may pursue the MA in English with a concentration in TESOL by combining the course work for the TESL Certificate with additional courses to meet the requirements of the MA in English. Students who complete the MA in English with a concerntration in TESOL will be qualified to teach in most post-secondary and adult programs in the US and in the international community.

Required TESOL Courses (13 credits)
Elective Courses (6-8 credits)
Thesis Work (4 credits)
Note: MA Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 (B).
